February/March Highlights
Our members rocked a ton of great PRs in February! Way to go everyone! Consistency in attendance makes a huge difference! Keep showing up to class and working hard!

The 2017 CrossFit Games Open is here! We have seen a lot of dumbbells so far in these workouts, and the WODS have been tough! We are proud of our members for making the first two Friday Night Lights a huge success by putting forth tremendous effort during the workouts and by helping to cheer on their fellow athletes during the other heats. We can’t wait to see what’s next in the Open, but most importantly we look forward to these Fridays working hard and celebrating with our community! You do not have to be signed up to the Open to be a part of Friday Night Lights–everyone is welcome!

Special shout out to Jessica Captain who has been capturing so many of the amazing moments with her camera!!!

CrossFit Mecklenburg supported another charity WOD on February 18th at the Southend Throwdown for Cystic Fibrosis. We encourage everyone to look at all of the upcoming opportunities to compete or participate in charity WODs this spring! Grab some friends and go!

March Member Spotlight:
Alex Schneider

Our member spotlight for this month is Alex Schneider!  Alex joined us in January of 2016.  When Alex first joined the gym he came to us while working on his running.  In fact, most days Alex would run from his home to the gym for workouts and then run back after the workout was over.  No matter how many times you asked him if he needed a lift he never accepted.  Since joining the gym Alex hasn’t just been setting new PR’s, he has been demolishing them, in many instances by double and triple digit volumes.  For example, in July Alex improved his deadlift by 150lbs and in December improved his front squat by 30lbs.  Along with these and other great accomplishments Alex is always pushing himself and those he works out with to perform better.  He is always helping to motivate others and has been a pleasure to coach.
